Dr. Marcy Zipke is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Elementary/Special Education at Providence College in Providence, RI. Her research specialty is literacy, specifically best practices for instruction that aids comprehension. Research for her Reading Research Quarterly article was conducted as a dissertation study when she was a graduate student at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Baker is a Professor of Literacy Studies at the University of Missouri.
