A former English teacher and current national leader in English Education, Suzanne Miller is professor and chair in Learning and Instruction, Graduate School of Education at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Since 2000 (five years before YouTube) Miller’s City Voices, City Visions Digital Video Composing project has been working to help teachers bring students’ understanding of digital media into school curricula as a learning tool, including to scaffold academic reading and writing; PBS called it one of the top great media projects in the country. Her research on this topic garnered the 2007 Janet Emig Award for best journal article in English Education and in 2008 she was named Outstanding Woman in the Teaching of English by the NCTE.

Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Baker is a Professor of Literacy Studies at the University of Missouri. Dr. Baker's research interests include integration of literacy and technology, new literacies, future literacies, 21st century literacies, multimedia case-based instruction in teacher education, and sociocognition in teacher education, literacy, and new literacies.
